[Elecraft] K2 commands - software guru help needed

2004-06-18 Thread Stewart Baker
Hi, I hope that someone in the group who has intimate knowledge of the K2 software command structure and can help resolve a problem. I am trying to use a well know Freeware logger program with my K2. As the program supports the Kenwood command set, and that is what I am using. The interface works

[Elecraft] K2 receive volume

2004-06-18 Thread Ron Willcocks
Hi I have read the thread about the lack of volume in the K2 that some chaps have reported, and personally I find it hard to imagine any problem in that area. During our last Field Day, we had a Tropical Cyclone running down us on the East, and a deep depression to the West, and the wind

Both the Central Electronics 10B and 20A generated EITHER USB and LSB at 9 MHz. I owned one each of these rigs. Mixed with 5 MHz (or various multiples thereof) one could operate from 80 to 10 meters. You selected the sideband by flipping a switch on the CE unit. The best part was the

If you find yourself anywhere near Arlington, TX this weekend, stop by Hamcom and visit the Elecraft booth. Eric (and Lerma) Swartz will be there, with plenty of kits. Unfortunately I can't be there -- my wife Lillian is due any day now with our second child. With any luck we'll have him

Oh, yeah, way cool. I carry one in my briefcase when I travel, along with a VHF/UHF super-talkie antenna that has a BNC mount. With that and my talkie, I'm in good shape with local repeaters when I travel. I figure that the combination is good for extending the range of my talkie by at least

Jim and all, I have worked on about 5 K2s since I acquired my XG1, and I can state that the gain of a properly aligned K2 from the antenna through the IF amplifier is very close from one K2 to another. Filter alignment will account for huge variations. Also, since I have been experimenting with
