wandering through various tests and a few trial and errors, I find the PA
Bias is grounded,
The 20 Meter contest has bunches of EU stations coming in so i took my KX1
out in the backyard to try for a few.
i was outside walking around at midnight and i worked YL2KO (Latvia) on 14060.
This was my first EU contact on 20 whilst being peripatetic mobile.
i had my 8 foot whip and a drag wire
I'm in a similar situation with S/N 3801.
There seems to be more differences than stated by Don Wilhelm.
For example, C88 in the rev. F manual is new, compared to the rev. D manual.

Like Paul, I found 20 meters last night to be absolutely fabulous.
Actually, it's been very good at night off and on for the last several weeks.
With
my K2 at 5 watts, and just an R7 vertical, I worked one European after
another, usually on the first call and with no repeats. If you
For those wanting to build a post 3000 SN K2 to the latest level without
going through the interim steps of building as instructed FIRST and THEN
adding the changes to bring it up to level...
You already have a Rev E manual - go to the Elecraft website and download
the REV F manual and print pages
I'm not using it. I don't actively pursue awards, and it isn't an
electronic QSL exchange, so I'm not interested. I do find it fun to receive
QSLs in a couple of hours to a few days of making the contact, without all
the hassle of filling out manual cards, the cost of printing and postage
and
I'm not using it because I'd rather have a QSL. At least with EQSL you get a
QSL card altho ARRL does not accept them.

Wayne,
Perhaps there should be a mention, somewhere in the XV60 manual, to re-tighten
the PA nuts after operating for a while.
While doing routine checking, I found that mine were relatively loose.

Folks,
I was doing some routine maintenance, had the KAT2 disconnected, with a dummy
load on the original antenna BNC connector.
Finished my checks, replaced the KAT2 and *forgot* to remove the dummy load.
DON'T DO THAT You Hi Cur will give you dirty looks because your PA

Good idea, Dave. We should probably mention this in all of the manuals

I think that it would be great to have calling frequencies set up for elecraft
owners. Would make it more like a club and make it easier to obtain the
elecraft awards.

You can *transport* it on aircraft, but don't even think about *using* it

The Elecraft 40 meter net was run on 7044 kHz this evening through much
QRN and a bit of QRM. I had Tom for a minute or two. He called the net
and got AC7XR but could not drag him in. I got Mark's name and call but
that was about it. The noise was just too much. Then along comes John,
