Hello.
I am building K2 SN3278 and am about to install L25 and L26 (40m low pass
filter). I have pre-wound toroids BUT the pre-wound toroids both have 16
turns. The manual says L25 should be 14 turns and L26 should be 12 turns.
I assume that the manual is correct but wanted to double check.

Hi Tom
I have successfully used my SCS PTC IIex modem with my K2 for Winlink
remote email application. I interface it to the rig through the mic

I cannot fault your logic ONE BIT! Elecraft's ALWAYS been there for
me, faster, AND more economical than Mouser...

Folks,
I too agree - Ordering parts from Elecraft is not only easy, but you do
receive personalized service too - Scott and Richard do a fantastic job,
part numbers help a lot to avoid ambiguities, but they are available and
receptive with information about a particular part should the part
I agree!
I have occasionally used Mouser for small quantities of parts for
little projects, and they have always been accurate and quick! I
always specify First Class Mail when I can for quick delivery.

Hi Kevin,
Got Tom for sure and the ' net control station ' which I thought was Tom.
But the LU SSB QRM was a 'real ' S9 ( 50uV) plus minus a little QSB, very
excited speech !! The ' Get rid of on-frequency QRM ' circuits in my HBw RX
were panting !! Had heard AL7N / 0 QRP working W3DCG at 01:33Z
Hi Tom,
Sorry to frighten you Tom !! Passed on some comments to Kevin which you
might want to look at . Thanks for yours. QRM keeps one healthy - do you
remember the pile-ups around JT1AB ?

Hi,
After installation and adjustment procedure of the 160m module to my K2-4288,
40m band became silent.
Why? How can I check it? Where should I start to check?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi
Check the ext receive antenna setting in the menu. If it is turned on it can
cause some bands to be connected to the ex receive BNC connector. As each band
saves this info it can be different for each band

The 160-meter module includes the rx ant feature. Maybe you have set
40m to use the rx antenna input?

My ESD problem with the K2 and KPA followed a severe shaking over washboard

Might do. And then when you hit the key with the wrong antenna (or no

This can definitely be improved in firmware, and it's on the list for

When we get closer to that point we'll announce it.)

Hi,
Indeed, vibration in mobile transport creates triboelectricity, a charge
build up by friction of wires insulations against conductors. It could be
not the foam of the box, (which usually is grey or black indicating carbon
content) but the wiring inside the radio.
It is always good practice
Tom,
The local SCS modem expert is Lewis Thompson, W5IFQ here at ARL. email him
at the adr I will send, for info on the interfacing of the SCS. He has
successfully interfaced them to the little 5 watt Yaesu radio, I know. I
think it is pretty straightforward to interface the SCS to anything.
Appreciate it, Stuart - would still appreciate any feedback from a K2 owner
who has tried this - the actual rig interface looks simple but they talk
about supported rigs and transmit receive times and their may be filter

Hi,
I am selling an Elecraft K1, s/n 918. It is in great condx, and it has
the KNB1, KAT1, 4 band filter board (40,30,20,15 meters). Also included
is the KTS1 tilt stand, KBT1 internal

beautifully and has all the current ECOs
We used a PTCPro with a K2 on the T33C trip, and the radio and modem
worked just fine for log uploads.
I've also used my PTC-IIe with my K2/100 with the EA3BLQ mod to make a
6pin digital mode mini-Din attachment point. I wired it such that it
matches the equivalent mini-DIN on the FT-817 and
