I would find the idea of a small RTTY rig an excellent
idea. Obviously PSK is a no go because its an audio
signal from a computer hence needing SSB.
RTTY would be fine as it would allow data modes to be
used by the small DXpedition fraternity without the
need for a laptop etc.

I have an interested party in the KAT100, so if
someone is interested in the K2/100 by itself, I need
to get $1170 plus shipping for it.

FSK may be easier to do technically, but what's the point if you can't
make any contacts?
I think it needs to do PSK. There isn't enough MFSK activity. And the
trouble with RTTY is, weak QRP signals aren't as copyable as MFSK and
PSK signals, and just to compound it, many of those who operate
Hello Kenneth,
I have been asked to put up a station for the local BSA troop to observe
Ham Radio on Saturday October 16th.
I'm going to be running barefoot out of park in Dyer,
Indiana. It might work?
Last year I was listening from the Camp Betz. I could hear
JOTA SSB stations on 40 and 20

Kenneth,
I will second what Mike said, there is very little CW activity associated
with JOTA.
There is no real reason to favor a particular frequency. Just tune around
the band(s) and you should find stations to talk to. Seems like I remember
being involved in a 4-way QSO with Washington
Fred, I missed your first post, but have you checked the procedure for
setting C22 on the Elecraft web site (www.elecraft.com). It's under Builder
Resource Page, then click on How to Build and Test Your Kit under Main
Topics of the page, then click on, Adjusting C22 to calibrate the K2's
Frequency
For inquiring minds ;-) , I'm in the final phase of finishing up the
reconfiguration program for the KRC2. I'll post here as I get it wrapped
up later this week.

Just had to share with you all some fun I had on Monday. I had a free
day, so I thought I'd combine my two favorite hobbies-fly fishing
radio. In the fall the weather here in Oregon is perfect, and a good
time to fish as the tourists, rafters schoolkids are gone :). I
went to the Deschutes

Great story, Dan. If you have some photos, we could turn this into a
great article for the Elecraft web site ;)
