You should go from the speaker jack on the K2 to a line in jack on the
sound card. The headphone jack audio source rolls-off some of the highs
and will make it a little harder to set the filters up.
The speaker out is mono, so I would just use one channel. Some systems

can be modified by changing a capacitor if a different width
is needed for a particular noise situation. Beyond that, the addition of
the KDSP2 adds the intellegence and levels of control to deal with other

heat is produced with 100 watts than 5 watts, but the loss is still the same

too high. I will be ordering a new K2 in the next few days and wonder if I

that I could have done. Most of the time I am on cw and the 700Hz filter
setting shows no obvious ripple anyway. It does however certainly not
look right on the waterfall on psk31!

the intensity of the sidetone and it's harmonics. With testing one can
optimize their K2 to their specific liking, but it comes at a price. I
sacrificed the ability to change the sidetone pitch for a better sounding
sidetone and less T/R thump.
Sure is fun tinkering with the K2 though!

With the KPA100 and KAT100 mounted in an EC2, can the cooling fan be turned
off? Is there enough room inside to provide adequate cooling without the
fan? I hate fan noise and the only fan that I have found to be quiet enough
is one with the motor and blades removed and destroyed.

and swirls on it. I can't decide whether to leave it as it is, or go
onto the much finer polishing next. Looks like you went for the mirror
effect - was it worth the effort?
