[Elecraft] Heil MH-2 Intermittent PTT
My MH-2 mic is very intermittent when the PTT is pressed. Sometimes it works fine and allows me to transmit, other times it does nothing - no transmitted signal. The mic in itself works very well and I get excellent audio reports especially if I pull the transmit line down by keying my morse key in SSB mode whilst transmitting into the MH-2 mic. I have stripped the Heil mic down and can find no evidence of poor or partial connections or the dreaded dry joints. Is this a common problem with this mic or should I be looking elsewhere for the cause? Any suggestions most welcome. [Elecraft] KPA100 Low Power on 30m 20m bands
Hi, I have completed the final alignment and test of my KPA100 amplifier which is working well in almost every respect other than relatively lower power output on the 30m and 20m bands. Measured power output is as follows: 80m 117W 40m 113W 30m 71W - initially flashes Hi Cur message 20m 75W - initially flashes Hi Cur 18m 105W 12m 103W 10m 99W Power output measured at antenna socket across 50 ohm load using Tek scope and calulating Pwr = Vpp^2/400. I have checked the inductors and capacitors in the two LPF chains. Everything appears ok, i.e. correct toroids used wound with correct number of turns. All capacitors check out as correct value with correct placement. CAL CUR set at 3.5 as indicated in setup. Power output displayed on K2 matches calculated output power to within 2-3W. K2 running barefoot gives more than 10W on all bands. Help please! Where do I look next? [Elecraft] K2 #4703 On-air
K2 Serial No 4703 completed and put on air. Worked LZ1YY in Bulgaria as first K2 contact with 579 signal at 10 watts on 40 metres. Great stuff, despite a little bit of fault finding on the way due to solder bridge. Thanks to Elecraft for a great bit of kit and superb construction project. Now on with SSB, Noise Blanker, 100w board and KAT2. Should keep me out of mischief! [Elecraft] K2/100 Underway
Hi all. K2/100 #4703 is well underway as a replacement for an earlier build K2 #29xx which I sold and have regretted ever since - in spite of replacing it with a MP Mk5! This time it will be the Mk5 that gets sold as soon as the K2 is up and running! Thanks for all the interesting reading on the reflector.
