Well folks another contest weekend is gone... The K2 was excellent: Some 600+ QSOs with over 400 multipliers. Not bad for hunt and pounce, may have been a few more if 80 and 10 had been a bit livelier. I even managed a few 160M QSOs, with a less than efficient radiator...
The K2 worked well with the N1MM logging software. I see there were a few K2 op's in the show.. hope all had fun! One item of note, while playing with the antennas (a voltage feed 40M Half Square) I noticed an interesting phenomenon. It seems that there is some sort of feedback, if the antenna isn't tuned properly. This causes the K2 to go into a keydown mode above about 50 Watts. You can escape it by lowering power or shutting the rig off. Not sure why this happens, but retuned the antenna and the problem ceased. Noticed when I tried to tune the antenna with a shack located tuner on 20M, the same situation occured. Any thoughts?
