This is the behavior that my K3 exhibited when the forward and reverse detection diodes in the SWR circuit on the RF board failed (D36 and D37). Sounds like your K3 is not detecting the level of RF output. Don K7FJ I have calibrated the transmit as per the manual at the 50W level. Notice
