Yeah but even on a siemens, it's simply referred to as cycle84 and inside
the cycle gui, you have options of floating and rigid tapping. I think the
rigid part should just be an m function and the tapping function should
just reside inside of the same g84.

I'd like to see rigid tapping being able to be toggled with an m code or a
parameter I'm the cycle instead of calling g33.1. fanuc mills use m29
primarily, siemens just has a cycle option for floating holder or
synchronous tapping

Anyone have a list of what the values in the features ini setting pertain
to? Anytime I include features, i just set it to features=30, like verser
"work with probe" uses. It would be nice to know what I'm doing rather than
just blindly setting a value.

Send me what you have, I'll take a look. It should not include tool offsets
of any kind. 5063 (skip position) does, 5043 does (absolute position off of
current work offset) but 5023 should just be the raw machine position from
the home positions (current g53 position).

I love cl and there is definitely a group of us who use it and would like
to see it updated to the latest release. CL was the reason I started using
LinuxCNC. Ladder style plc is still widely relevant in commerical CNC
machines. Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls use it extensively.

tool setter, the wear offset for that tool zeroes out automatically. It's
just beneficial to have, especially on a lathe.
