I'm actually trying to read an analogue signal

How heavy is your heavy motor?
You need to scale the 1000V down to a range that is safe for typical

I like to ask
1. Can this voltmeter be used to measure AC voltage up to 1000VAC
2.Can it also be used to measure DC voltage on another
snip
What is the maximum voltage that the paralel port can handle
5V and not a lot of current.
Anything above will surely fry your parport, and probably your motherboard
too.

I would be glad if someone could help me with the components to put in to make
my voltmeter on the pyvcp to work and what to do. I would be glad if someone
could also give me a reference document to read on this. Thank you
