There is a compatibility layer in BSD for linux which should make
porting trivial. Make a cdrom.h file which includes
compat/linux/common/linux_cdrom.h, then put any other patching you need
into the new cdrom.h.
(I am looking at a NetBSD system ATM so your milage may vary)

been trying to make the necessary changes to compile e and e_modules
with debug flags, by following your suggestion of creating an alias.
That all I did, but I think it didn't work.. at least, I still have the
same (or very similar) output from gdb:

Whenever I go to Choose Continent-North America the module and all of
enlightenment freezes completely. I have not debugged at all. I have
noticed this behaviour for last two days.

Works fine so far, I installed it, enabled Composite in my xorg.conf
(xdpyinfo shows it loaded, too), but when I click on opacity settings of
some window, nothing happens.

I had this errors when i tried to compile e_utils, till yesterday. I
use the script that update everything include e_utils and e_modules
