I am on FreeBSD 12.2-p3 x64, EFL and E installed from packages.
I cannot reproduce your problem.
I have no idea about a possible reason of your problem (but I don't use
xterm regularly).
Maybe, changing options in composite settings -> rendering you'll be
able to get better results.
I come to submit problems, not to argue with you which terminal I should choose.

but at last I found xterm is my favourite. I never encountered such a bug in
