What if you're manually sending a mail from E2K server (telnetting port 25)? Is there a second mail server showing up in nslookup? Using this one (via telnet and/or connector/smarthost) is also not working? You also can try to change the internet message settings for that domain... And then you can create a connector for this domain and change the default settings (helo instead of ehlo etc.)
