Ciao a tutti!
avrei bisogno di sapere se esiste un comando che mi dice se
é sta girando un server X sulla macchina su cui sto lavorando.
Eviterei, se possibile, soluzioni con ps, netstat, grep vari.
Grazie per la cortesia,

Is there anybody who use Alcaltel SpeedTouch usb adsl modem?
now I install it under linux 2.4.2.
1) reconfig kernel.
add usb support.
add preliminary usb device filesystem support
add ATM support.
2) make Sarlib
3) make (SpeedTouch package)
4) make install

A second situation is CPU misrecognition. The orphan CyrixMediaGX is a

Um...yes, I'm quite sure there is an "@" symbol in the email address.

Some folks have found fonts too big for the space available (when testing
beta2), and others have reported ugly fonts they were unable to change.
Most of this might be attributed to anti-aliasing.
We set it ON on the Beta2. We are setting it OFF in the Beta3.
I did this to myself too. Someone told me about one of those marvellous files
buried somewhere - /etc/securetty (mine is appended at bottom) which lists the
places root can log in from. I can log in as root from any of the 6 consoles.

Please do not exclude the i586 rpms from newer versions.

um The K6 should be recognized as an i686. The Pentium 60-233mmx,
Cyrix 6x86/MX, and AMD K5 were all i586 type processors. The PPro 150-200,
P2/3, and K6/6-2 would be considered i686.

maybe you have to point your kernel to that family arch

Mandrake doesn't seem to know that :-) I have the same problem Ken

I had this before and ran it down. I was running an authentic AMD
'586; this was identified by rpm as a 486. RPM is the problem
Now I've two K6/2s also, and investigated a little, being a hardware head.
Kernel notes make clear the K6 is an i686. Use --nodeps with rpm and forget it
The AMD 5x86 is a fast 486, nothing more. It's 100% 486 architecture; they
tried to fool a everyone with that. AMD didn't have a true i586 processor
until the K5.

RPM checks the dependancies against it's database of installed packages.
If you've updated your libs thru some other means the RPM will be unaware of
this and issue dependancy errors, even though you may actually have the
correct library loaded.
Also did you include the entry for any new libs

Eh, no.
Have you looked at the kernel code?
Have you tried recompiling the kernel? (Did you read the HELP about this
issue?)
Linux utilizes the mtrr registers which differ between the i686 and the K6.
The K6 and the i586 are a correct match according to the kernel mtrr
handler.
