Hello,
I am running Mandrake 7.0 with all the updates on a dual-Celeron machine. I
have had a few problems with my DVD player in the past.
Recently I have found the following message repeated inumerous times in
/var/log/messages
kernel: ATAPI device hdb:
kernel: Unknown Error Type: No sense data -- (Sense key=0x04)
kernel: (vendor-specific error) -- (asc=0x85, ascq=0x09)
kernel: The failed "Read Subchannel" packet command was:
kernel: "42 02 40 01 00 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 "
A few of the numbers change but the overall message is pretty much the same. I
suspect that it is my DVD player causing trouble. What can I do to fix this
problem?
