Has anyone had any luck with installing single network firewall 7.2? Any good or bad comments? I'm looking for a simple firewall solution but still have a mandrake install on the box so that I can ssh to and do backups to. Ideas? -- = Dan Belkie System Architect

I am trying to install the Mandrake Single network Firewall. The machine is an AMD k6-2/450 with 128 Mb Ram (2 64 MB DIMMS) and a 10 GB Hard drive. The board has video integrated on the board that uses 8 mb of Ram for video. The problem is when I start the install it gets to the loading 2nd stage

Can the Mandrake Single Network Firewall support more than one NIC on the internal LAN? I looked through the manual and saw no mention of this. Trying to avoid buying a hub if I don't really need one. TIA, John W Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? Go to

Unless you are connecting a cross-thru cable directly to 1 other computer, don't you need hubs anyway? Also, I've seen 8- and 16-port switches at tigerdirect.com for US$10/port. VERY reasonable. 5-port switches US$50. -- Sun Sep 2 16:59:16 2001 Seq. TimestampUptime

Ok once more i have told SNF to forward ports 2108-211 to my internal machine (192.168.0.4) then i have specified these ports in licq to be the ones to use and still it hangs and times out after creating a local server and opening socket. This is the syslog of my firewall right after doing
