I'm trying to get my scanner working here...
It seems to work already, but there is an issue:
when running scanimage -L as a user (not root), ppdev seems to be
required...
Somehow this module doesn't seem to be loaded by default, so I had to
add it to /etc/modules...

I've got a machine in a uni that needs as much security as it can get. But, I also need it to be able to print and with the security permissions set to higher it won't work. Can someone give me a tip on what I need to change to allow printing? This is a Mandrake 9.0 system.

stopped me is that stuff that works in earlier hosts.allow/hosts.deny
doesn't seem to work the same in them as it does in earlier versions.. (7.2)
