It's supposed to be able to work that way, so you shouldn't have to
configure it manually. The usual user-interface may be graphical, but
it can do its tricks without that. I've seen it discussed on this list,
before, but I can't recall when or under what topic. You

Before NetworkManager got it's act together in F10, I used the following
'wifi-config' script to get wireless working (in F6 and F8). You do need
the /etc/resolv.conf file to point to the correct DNS servers for
whereever you are. I added
processors
so I'd like to use runlevel 3 most of the time. I haven't been able

I think there is a setting in the network scripts where you can put
*onboot=yes* along with *NM_CONTROLLED=yes*. So you need to put that
in the script for the wireless device. I'm not sure though

believe the default is to run the network service in run level 3,
and the NetworkManager service in run level 5. I am using the
network service on this machine, and I have NM_CONTROLLED=no in
the config file. I turned off NM
running with
wireless could confirm this. That would be an easier route - though of
course it would mean installing F11 first.
