I hope she will be an indoor kitty from now on.

It's so sad that the vets are so behind the times on this. It makes me so freakin' mad. tkandbz_ mom [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:As some of you know, I have been looking for a "good, knowledgeable" vet for Angel, who tested positive for Felv. Anyway, my sister had to take her dog to a vet today

Thank you all for your prayers. Popeye is wheezing and weak, but he still fought me tooth and nail when I tried to get some water, tuna water, and fancy feast down him. I don't think he got enough of any to do any good. He just hates to be medicated so badly that if whatever is wrong CAN be fixed
Great Signature Line! I have always felt that way!

I would like nothing more -- but she would not be happy. She spent
the night inside last night...and she stays inside in winter...but she was an
outdoor cat when she adopted me and decided to live on my front porch and she is
not happy when she has to stay indoors on beautiful days. All the
Thank you, Gina. I think she was more shaken than anything. I
still worry because I know that it is difficult to find a puncture bite - I've
checked her carefully and will continue to do so. I worry about
abscesses.

Dear Karen:
You may want to talk to the vet personally instead.
The first thing I thought was the receptionist new or
fairly new? The receptionist could be uninformed! I
use several vets all the time. I can spot the new
personnel just by the way they handle me in different
situations.
You and Popeye are in my thoughts and prayers. It's such a difficult
time when you know they are seriously sick and refuse help. Having him
from 4 weeks old, (such a tiny little angel), and the fact that he's
such a momma's boy in every other respect (than medicating) makes all
this so hard

I'm so pleased to hear that Mama is eating and playing and seems to

What a terrible thing to have happened. I just want to point out
though, how incredibly lucky you guys are that that dog wasn't a
killer. It could have been
Prayers and good thoughts that this works out for Sheri and the

the phone with you. Let us know what happens,

Hi Karen,
Ask your vet for a referral to a board certified Internist. All vets
have specialty clinics that they send their patients to when there's a
condition that GP medicine can't deal with. There is a much better

Hi,
Thank you, Nina. Mama Kitty stayed inside last night.
She went out briefly this morning but I convinced her to stay in the
house today while I am at work and she seemed content in her little
nest on the couch.
I have never seen this dog before (although I suspect that it is one I
hear barking
I'm so very sorry this has happened to you and Mama Kitty. My niece's 15 y/o cat was murdered this spring by2 canines because of irresponsable canine owners. It happened right in front of the family, itwas so fast they could do nothing to stop it. Baxter never ran from a dog in his life and he
Hi Nina,The only thing is, the vet I originally took Angel to wanted to euthanize her. I don't think he would be very helpful with finding a specialist. His thoughts were that Angel is a "spreader", so do away with the problem. It saddens me how easily they recommend euthanasia. I am

I agree with you 100%, Catatonya. After talking to this receptionist lady, my sister was a bit freaked out, so I had to explain to her that Felv is not airborne. What's frustrating is that we know how to treat human leukemia and aids, but have no clue how to treat cats. It seems silly.
preciouspets is, i think, being way too kind and naive. as a human with chronic illnesses, i know very well what a problem front-office people can be with trying to control access to the doc, and how often it turns out that the doc has no idea about whatinformation/lack of it their office staff is

I've been scrubbing his chin with Mythic's allergy shampoo, and it's

Call animal control, your cat was bitten, if you saw the dog's mouth on
her. They will take the dog, and quarantine it for rabies. That should make the
neighbor's think twice about letting their dog run loose! Hell, tell them the
dog snapped at YOU, if no one saw to deny it, who's gonna know
LOL! That sounds like a good idea, but we had some neighbors here who were in a similar situation and they ended up being fined for allowing the cat to run loose. Crazy, huh?! [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Call animal control, your cat was bitten, if you saw the dog's mouth on her. They will
Heeheehee. Yes, Nina, you have pushed it too far. :)
Not for lack of want, but budget/living space/landlord-wise 2 is my cap. And honestly, 2 below the knee and me is a pretty good fit. One day though...one day. :)

I'm glad to hear that Mythic is doing better - bless his dear little

Animal control is all but non-existent here. There are a lot of
advantages to living outside of city jurisdiction but this is not one of
them.
Mama Kitty seems to be doing well tonight. That is a small miracle
considering what I witnessed yesterday with that horrible dog. She's
