I wouldn't be worrying so much about her having the "perfect" diet so
much as seeing that she eats _ something_ whatever it is. It will be
harder on her liver to NOT eat than to process kibble ( rule of thumb
for me is that many generations of ferals ( and people!!) have managed

Amy,
Your story is similar to mine. I think that there is so much that vets don't
know about Felv, so it is great to hear from others with their situation. When
I found out that she had Felv from the Elisa test, her blood work was fairly
normal and since that time she has gained weight. So
I'm interested in replies to this as well. I have a somewhat similar experience
which I have been pondering over. My own cat, Gravy, tested positive on the
Elisa for FeLV in March when we took her in for an ear infection and persistent
lethargy. A month ago she had both Elisa and IFA tests and
My cat tested positive for Felv a few months ago from an Elisa test. I had her
tested after she had persistent yeast ear infections and I had read that immune
suppressed cats were prone to yeast infections. In addition, when she was a
kitten she tested positive but then tested negative. I
Great Christmas present!

Well, as much as it stresses her out to take her to the vet, I am taking her
back in next Wed. And probably every week for awhile. I asked the tech why
so many things were not tested for her blood draw yesterday. She said I
needed to ask for a CBC Chem 17 if I wanted that. I didn’t even know what
I'm so glad the bloodwork results weren't as dire as you thought they might
be.
Good luck to you and Bogey!

I think he is wrong on that. I don't think you usually get a rise on the
prednisone. I think you can on the Winstrol. I have no idea what he is talking
about but the good news is that it probably doesn't matter. She should be fine
either way. However, I would monitor the blood work closely and
Well I called my vet today for clarification about the test results and the
plan of action. He wants her back on the Winstrol and Doxy now. When I
expressed my concern about her ALT he said he fully expected that to rise
because of the prednisone injection he gave her upon releasing her. That is
Good morning everyone. I have kind of a general question here for you all.
I am walking a tight rope here for my FELV + Bogey as far as to what to feed
her. She is hungry and is eating but now we are facing some rising liver
enzymes so I think I need to do more than just get her to eat .
She is
Thank you Robert. I post that table with her results right out of excel.
Sometimes it runs together on mine too. I have put this on Google Sheets
so I can view it at work too. Here is a link if you would like to see it.

Thanks, Robert. I'll definitely know what to ask for if it comes to that.
Curly is still eating a significant amount of the Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers
twice a day and she ate quite a bit of canned tuna last night. We'll be
starting the Winstrol tonight and will be waiting on the Doxy until Monday
Hi Amani,
In all honesty I was shocked when I compared her last liver test to this
one. She is eating so well and drinking. She got so much strength back that
I don’t have to kennel her. She is handling the stairs just fine. Urine is
clear and great easy bowel movements. When the doc was talking
Ardy...
Thank you for the suggestion and the benefit of your experience with DB
and Winstrol I guess I can understand their reticence if they can't
configure their database to produce that information in a few moments (
of course they could be simply disinclined as well which really can't
