Bones is home and doing GREAT! I really think they did a great job on her spay,
she
came home happy, and active, and more loving than before. They said they all
loved
her, she was so sweet to them while there. She has a pain patch that stays on
for 3
days... but so far she is doing great, you
Jenn-
Glad to hear about Bones' successful surgery! Yea!

Jenn,
I know you must be anxious about Bone's spay. I understand paying the
higher fee to go to a vet you really trust. I'm sure you've been more
than clear about your concerns and that they will do their best to
insure her safety. We all know what a very special little girl she is.
I have scheduled Bone's spay for Halloween day. She gets dropped off Sunday
morning,
and I pick her up Tuesday afternoon. I hope everything goes well... I'm taking
her to
the good vet, and paying their high fee ($140) when I could have taken her to
the
clinic for only $40. I think they will

Julie - you said you waited until they were close to a year -- did you wait as long as you could - until they first came in heat

I have had to put off spaying Bones as well. She JUST came into her first
heat last week, and it only lasted 4 days. She meowed alot, and Pinky and
Doobiewere mounting her, but other than that, I don't think she was
"stressed" about it. (All my males are neutered, but two of them don't seem
Hi, My Ginger is almost one year and a half now and I waited to spay her
as she was extremely weak and underweight -but she recently became
in heat and I felt so bad that she needed to go through it - I know it's
stressful to go through heat process, but I did not want her to go
through
Well I certainly wouldn't spay her while she's in heat, or when she's
not eating. It may be that she's eating less because she's in heat,
they get so focused with the hormonal surges and need to find a mate.
How is she otherwise? Is she strong and healthy now? It's so stressful
having them
if I could avoid and I don't know what
it means.
