I still cry over special cats I lost 20 or even 30 years ago. The pain never goes away, but in time it lessens enough to be bearable. Roxanne, the pain is unbearable, I know, but it is so much better than he was with you and he felt your love before he went back to being the angel you always knew him to be. Once, a long time ago, one of my cats died alone when I wasn't home. That is an ache in my soul that has never gone away. I am crying again now when I think about it, even though it happened more than 20 years ago. Roxanne please don't feel guilty - I know that may be difficult right now - but what if you left him at home and then you found him dead when you returned. He was with you - someone who loved and cared for him even if for a short time. No, Roxanne.More likely he would have died alone. CHF in a cat that young is a sad thing, but sometimes treatment just can't do enough.He's safe at The Bridge, now, and you did what you thought was best.
