We saw that movie GAS LAND and we also had a gas well drilled on
our land. Believe me there is NO "safe" way to drill for
gas. We were way, way out in the boonies and it ruined our land
and water. Drilling for gas and fracking is an extremely dangerous

Sadly, I've found very few people think of a cat or dog as a lifetime

I use feathers or a long handled bath brush to win over a shy or
feral cat. I've had them simply melt at the touch, and soon
become very affectionate.

The idea of the long handled bath brush is so you can pet the

Our vet clinic uses these tests and I questioned them about it.
They guarantee they are fine, and I've had at least 5 cats test
negative on them, but I've heard too many bad reports of these
FelV, FIV and Heartworm tests to have any confidence in them.

I have always heard not to vaccinate for FIV, only FelV.
Not only is the FIV vaccination questionable, but the cat will
forever test positive for FIV just because of the vaccination.

When we lived on our 75 acre farm hunters would park on our road and
walk back into the woods. We could hear them, but never find them,
so because they were parked where I could get to their cars I began
letting the air out of their tires!

Right, factory farming is extremely cruel. Animals seem to be treated
horribly regardless of whether they are wild animals, domestic
animals or even pets in some cases. What gets me is people who have
pampered pets but care absolutely nothing about how other animals are

Where we live, in the mountains of WV, they drop bait from low flying
aircraft. This is oral rabies vaccine for the raccoons to eat. They
haven't done this for several years, but did at one time. I have no
idea how sucessful it was.

I have several FelV cats, and they have lived long healthy lives.
I do not think an asymtomatic FelV cat should be automatically
euthanized. There are sanctuaries that take FelV cats, or they
should be isolated from other cats, but not killed.

Thank you for your post, Natalie. I will never understand why so many
people feel guilty about adopting another cat when they lose one. It
is not a betrayal it's a tribute to the cat who died to honor it's
death by helping another cat. Your words were perfect.
