Dear Lorrie,
I would imagine as long as the two singles come off the bobbins freely it
would not matter if it stands up or lays down. In any case, I found an
address for you. Email-

It seems like every couple of years or so this discussion of natural
vs. manmade fibers comes up but I have never seen anyone discuss the
main reason I don't do manmade fibers. I find that they do not mix
well with my body. That is to say that when I wear manmade fibers I
notice an odor
They tell me it is airs at 8 am.
Only for a fellow fiber person would I turn on the TV that early in the

Hey Dudes,
This is arguably off-topic (but I could argue it's on as well) and I'm
sure someone here will know.
I'm interested in buying a vintage silk dress. It's the right price, size
and style. The only problem is that it's mauve. Now I don't want to get
into a religious war here, so let's

When I worked in a yardage store in San Deigo we sold mohair suit
material for summer suits. I was told it was cooler than wool.
I did make my sweety his wedding and job interveiw suit but out of cotton.
His current suit is wool/polyester. I can machine wash and dry it.

Has anybody seen the deep-fat-fry a turkey set-up sold by Cabela's
and some kitchen stores? It seems to me like it might make a perfect
dye set-up: big stainless steel pot, stainless steel thingy that
goes in it with holes for draining (reminds me of the bratwurst
boiling thingy Deb Menz
I've used this set up for dye pot, for some time now. I've dyed all winter
and it has worked very well.
I've used all sizes os stainless pots with no problem. Unless you run out of
gas befor the job is done

I use a magnetic induction burner for dyeing. You obviously can only
use it with steel/iron, but it's big enough to hold a good-sized pot,
and I can plug it in either in the basement or on the front walk.
Plus, it has a thermostat, so once the temperature is where I want it,
it stays there.

DeeDee, I appreciate more than I can say your faith in my memory. Or perhaps
it was your faith in the vendor's labelling. In either event, I can only
respond I dunno!! I have no clue the proportions of silk and cotton. I
do know that the first year I was at Maryland Sheep Wool
