I want to thank everyone for all of the wonderful responses to my question about the Spinolution wheel and the Kromski Minstrel wheel. I love my Country Craftsman wheel and have been using it since I learned to spin 21 years ago. About 15 years ago, I got the urge for a more "portable" wheel and bought a used Ashford Traveller. I never did really like to spin on the Ashford as much and I ended up selling it after about a year.
I work in a library and next month I am starting up a monthly meeting for knitters, crocheters, spinners, weavers and other fiber arts folks. I am SO excited about getting this new program going. I want a wheel that I can take to the meeting each month and not worry about having to disassemble it the way that I do my Country Craftsman to get it to fit in my car. I am like a 5 year old child, in that once I decide that I want something, I want it yesterday! Patience is not one of my virtues! :) I plan on going to SAFF in October in Asheville NC, but I fear that my "want" of a spinning wheel will not wait that long! I do have an acquaintance that has a Kromski Minstrel and I am going to try to make arrangements to try it out. Thank you again for all of your wonderful help!
