I think Debbie New is an amazingly creative knitter. I took a workshop
with her on swirl knitting, which was excellent, and have seen a picture
of her portrait blanket, which was very cool. There's a photo of her in
her knitted boat in A Gathering of Lace (Meg Swanson, ed) and in the

Cathy, I remember seeing an exciting piece by Debbie New a year or so ago,
and doing a search but not being able to turn up much on the net about her
other works. I believe she is coming to Australia for the Geelong Fibre
Forum in Sept/Oct this year, though, so you should be able to contact

I am researching the above knitwear designer from Waterloo Ontario in
respect of my committee portfolio of Web Ferret for the Creative Fibre
Education Committee of New Zealand. One of the future Festival are
proposing to bring this woman out to NZ as the guest overseas tutor.
