May I suggest that you get him something a little more than the very

Hi Deborah,
You didn't give any prices that I could find for the books on your list
- but I think I would enjoy the Rose Wilder Lane book, if the price is good.

Holly,
You are really an inspiriation! And your fiber choices sound so lovely.
Gives hope that the rest of us (moi, for exmple g) might actually
accomplish such a thing in our own lifetimes.
A big cheer for you

All the advice so far about washing that wool is great - but remember,
please, to do a vinegar rinse when you're done with all that ammonia,
soda ash, alcohol etc.
All these products are pretty corrosive to the wool as well as the
grease, and a few glugs of vinegar (the cheapest kind will do

Does
anyone have experience with the graphite or molybdenum
lubricants for spinning wheels?
You might consider one of the silicone lubricants instead. They seem to
work quite well, and are often sold in cute little bottles that get into
small orifices without leaving a huge mess.

Any suggestions where I can buy Super Lube?
If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to find it at either/and Home

I can already see a tiny line of black sludge
after 30 min of spinning.
I still think that it would work even better if you could clean those
places well before applying the new lubricating liquid - or,
alternatively, (if it's too hard to reach), apply an excess of lubricant

I've read somewhere that walnut leaves also produce a nice brown dye,
and can be used if the nuts themselves aren't yet ready.

The manual dobby is an excellent loom, but do keep in mind that each pattern
shot needs a dobby bar to be pegged. (There are ways to insert tabby
without
taking a dobby bar for each one). This makes it somewhat more time

I have to ask. Why would one iron a perma-press shirt?
A good question.
Reminds me of a comment I read once - asking a similar question. Turns
out the iron-er was pressing down the little no ironing needed tags,
which, unfortunately, DID need ironing or they stuck up out of the backs

I have also been a subscriber to Piece Work (another Interweave mag),

True - and it arrived at my home about an hour after I complained of

My face is red, but my point remains - I still prefer the variety in the
older issues.

Ivermectin is completely safe...
I beg to differ. Ivermectin can cause neurological deficits, if administered
incorrectly--too often, or incorrect dose.
Absolutely!

I'm sure not all llamas are covered in dirt at all times (ask a herd
owner g), but rolling in dust/dirt does seem to be a pretty common
thing among the camelids. For this reason, many spinners prefer to wash
the fiber first, because they'd rather not have that grit go through
their wheels.
Works for me in both Netscape 7.2 and in Firefox 2.0.0.12.

I love the colors produced by dyeing natural colored wool. It gives a
really rich color.
My first adventure into dyeing (I'm still not very proficient) was to
overdye some not-too-interesting brown fleece with green - just to see
what would happen.
The brown became a bit richer in color -

Hello, anyone here know how to get the ads off of your email when you use
aol?
Don't know if you can really take them all off (short of paying a higher
fee, of course); they're a source of revenue for aol. But they are lots
less obnoxious if you turn off the HTML setting in your account
Also no way to turn off the HTML aspect as far as I have been able to ever
figure out.
Actually, I believe I've seen how to turn this off, even in aol, but
it's quite (deliberately, I'm sure) tricky to find.

Lemons are between 2.0 - 2.6
Limes are between 2.0 - 2.35
Thus they can both be as acidic as each other, but a lemon may be less
acidic, the range is due to seasonal and regional location variation.
Oh good grief, you're right!
