Does anyone have experience with the graphite or molybdenum lubricants for spinning wheels? You might consider one of the silicone lubricants instead. They seem to work quite well, and are often sold in cute little bottles that get into small orifices without leaving a huge mess. Gwen S.

The manual dobby is an excellent loom, but do keep in mind that each pattern shot needs a dobby bar to be pegged. (There are ways to insert tabby without taking a dobby bar for each one). This makes it somewhat more time consuming and prone to small pegging errors than the computerized dobby

I'm sure not all llamas are covered in dirt at all times (ask a herd owner g), but rolling in dust/dirt does seem to be a pretty common thing among the camelids. For this reason, many spinners prefer to wash the fiber first, because they'd rather not have that grit go through their wheels.
