Aaron is correct. Upgrades (the things we charge you money for every
year) do not require you to have last year's version installed. Updates

only require that you have the current version on your machine.

Hi Brian,
I think you misunderstand what I was asking for. I know you can
enclose a selection of notes and get the Apply Articulation box. I
also know that you can use metatools to assign articulations by
enclosing notes. I use this feature all the time.
What I am suggesting is that you

sorry I couldn't resist, I've spent wy too many rehearsals trying
to interpret his Rorschach-test manuscripts - one band I play with has

Yeah, he has it and he's been using it for a few years now. I'm not
sure exactly when he made the switch from manuscript to Finale, and I'm
not sure how complete it is -- he may still do some scores by hand.
But most of his recent compositions have Finale scores instead of
manuscript scores.
Okay, I had a chance to download the Sibelius 3.1.1 for OS X demo
today, and I have one word.
DAMN.
This thing is fast. Like, *really* fast. Even on my antiquated
hardware. Dragging around the screen is seamless, and of course
everything draws instantly as you drag, no redraws. Playback
Hi all,
Some of you may have noticed that a guy named Glenn Plank has been
liquidating his stock of showroom demo units of the Ricoh AP2610 on
eBay. I just wanted to put in a good word for him -- I ordered mine
from him and it arrived in pristine condition, like new. I also

Hi all,
Some time ago I mentioned some of the interesting features of Graphire. The
manual is online, and here is one page that is interesting (have animated
GIFs turned on):

I sure do like that easy cross-staff beaming. :)
The manual is not

Have you tried Show Active Layer Only and then applied your mass edit

Maybe if you change the time signature BEFORE doing the duration change,
but be certain NOT to check the Rebar Music option.

I forgot to clarify a detail in my last message.
When you turn *off* Smoothing in Sibelius 3, I think what is
happening is that Sibelius *stops* using graphics card-assisted drawing
and switches to the regular, CPU-based drawing used by Finale (and
previous versions of Sibelius). That's why
Hi Brian,
I understand that chords currently rely on key signatures as the basis
for transposition settings. That's what needs to change! Otherwise,
chords in pieces written without a key signature will never transpose
correctly.
It can't possibly be that difficult to fix this. If the

I guess I miss what you're after. If I enter a whole note in layer 1,
and fill layer 2 in the same measure with hidden 16ths, the hidden 16th
notes. With Affects Music Spacing checked for layer 2, the 16th notes
have an effect on the spacing (no matter what kind of spacing I use).
