The instrument lists are simply text files that one can edit; however, there is a tripartite structure which must be followed in order for FINALE to interact with the text files. Ther must be a simpler way to do this, but I haven't been able to find it;-)

One issue not previously addressed in this thread is expense. In most choruses, the individual choristers are expected to buy their own music, and they in turn expect that music to be extremely cheap--no more than a couple of bucks per copy. In order for this to be profitable for the publisher,
