Ign file: stable/main Release
i installed enlightenment and changed my .xinitrc
Now i get the following error-message:

I posted this mesage before and got a reaction from Dave, but it didn't
bring me further in installing the lib.

hi,
I would like to install x11 using fink. Before making any mistake I'd
like to know which of the several packages I should install. I ask
because on my old G4 I could not install xbase, but rather I had to
install a version of it that acknowledged I had installed x11
independently of fink.
I get the same message as you do--I don't think it's anything to worry
about.

But my X-Server quits on startup with this message.
If that's not the reason, what else can i do?
Maybe it quits because of:

I had a similar problem at one point, and it turned out that I was

message.

If you are using the builtin X11 with Panther, then you are supposed to
have a system-xfree86 virtual package. Check this by running
fink-virtual-pkgs. If you do have such a virtual package, then Fink
won't let you install XFree86 over your existing X11.
If you want to install XFree86 with

Wish I knew--I see the same thing. I tried rebuilding linc1, but that
didn't change anything.
I'm running XFree86-4.3.99.901-2 on Panther

How do you download it? I do not see a link for ethereal. I told you it was a stupid
question...
Thank You

Hello again Sara.
As i tried to explain before, it seems there are real problems with getting
shared libraries working for Imagemagick on OS X. You will encounter the
same problems if you attempt to do this by hand rather than using fink.
Why do you need the shared libraries, if I may ask? For

Thanks for the link, although I've read that section of the FAQ half a
dozen times. ESD works. When I ./esd it makes some noises and the socket
link appears in /tmp/.esd. But nothing appears in the audio i/o plugins box
under preferences.

I had this problem which disappeared upon reinstalling xmms. That is,
the plugins were there.
Hope that helps, Bob
