When I install software, any software, the fink try to
update my xorg, and get the error:
Failed: can't install package xorg-6.8.2-1035
It seems that some one else encounter the same
problem, but I didn't find solution method from
document, FAQ, and google. If any one can help me?

I didn't install X11SDK before. Now I can find it from
the folder of Xcode.

apparently available:

I find an octave.info file for version 2.1.72.

It is in the Developers area.
Unless you have a special need to prepare for the transition to
Leopard it is probably not something you want.
I have passed on it for now: but I'm not really a developer

fink install octave
does go through and download a lot of file, but eventually it gets to
octave-2.9.13
