[Fink-devel] PyGtk2 1.99.15 in package submission tracker

2003-02-26 Thread Michel Alexandre Salim
Hello, I have just uploaded an info file for PyGTK 1.99.15 for GTK+2 into the package submission tracker, URL here: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/ ?func=detailaid=693672group_id=17203atid=414256 (tracking number 693672). It mostly works - apart from OpenGL since it requires gtkglarea = 2.0

[Fink-devel] Next incremental change to X11 Docs

2003-02-26 Thread Alexander Hansen
Section 3.4 of the X11 Docs refers to building from source. Since there's no official 4.2.1 source, what should the build-from-source path for 10.2 entail--build 4.2.0 and patch? Also, should 10.1 users be instructed to apply the patches, as per the binaries (Section 3.3)? -- Alexander K.

[Fink-devel] .cshrc vs .tcshrc

2003-02-26 Thread Alexander Hansen
There has been additional discussion about .tcshrc interfering with .cshrc . A suggestion was made about adding to the documentation the info about what to do in the event of a .tcshrc . That seems like a lot of work to me. -- Alexander K. Hansen Associate Research Scientist, Columbia

Re: [Fink-devel] problems with iostream.h

2003-02-26 Thread Moritz Zumbühl
It seems to be a generell flex lexer problem. FlexLexer 2.5.4a-2 produce code who's not compatible to GCC 3.1. (Has something to do with the includes and namespaces and I found also a strange problem with a forward declaration...) After some hours stumbling through the code I solved the problems

Re: [Fink-devel] .cshrc vs .tcshrc

2003-02-26 Thread Alexander Hansen
Indeed, one could do that. I've even suggested to people who want to set fink up for all users on a machine. The problem (which I had forgotten about) is that incremental operating system updates (10.2.x - 10.2.x+1) could wipe it out. Since the Users Guide gets updated more frequently, it might

Re: [Fink-devel] .cshrc vs .tcshrc

2003-02-26 Thread Remi Mommsen
Hi, Yes indeed this could be a problem. However, I have a customized csh.cshrc since 10.2 came out and none of the incremental updates since then touched those files. If this would happen (maybe when moving to 10.3) one would have to rerun the script which adds the 'source /sw/bin/init.csh'.

2003-02-26 Thread Alexander Hansen
given how painful (for the developers) the 10.1-10.2 upgrade was, I think they'd probably just as soon let the users be responsible for the their own environment settings. On Wed, 2003-02-26 at 15:33, Remi Mommsen wrote: Hi, Yes indeed this could be a problem. However, I have a customized

[Fink-devel] XFree86 4.3

2003-02-26 Thread Benjamin Reed
Well, according to the X website, XFree86 4.3 is due to get tagged tomorrow. Has anything been decided yet on how we are going to handle the 4.3 upgrade? --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Scholarships for Techies! Can't afford IT

Re: [Fink-devel] Much wrong use of shlibs field

2003-02-26 Thread Ben Hines
Well, pogma at least read this and fixed his package, did anyone else? Anyone else care? Is the shlibs field really that difficult to get? Everyone clear on this? I better not see people updating packages and doing it wrong. :) Anyway, you will start caring when i fix fink validate, and drm
