I've puzzled out the general cause of the bus errors on the G4 here
at work with pymol. Since I had two equal sized drives in the machine
and the system drive was getting full, I had archived the /sw directory
and moved it over to /Volumes/Data with a symlink in the root partition
of the system drive. For some reason, pymol doesn't play well when it
has to cross symlinks. I was able to tar back up the sw directory on
the second drive and untar it back on the system drive. After doing that
the segfaults in pymol ceased. Annoying.
