That’s fine, though there’s probably really no need to do every package at the
same time apart from convenience. For example, the HDF5* packages build static
libraries and so they don’t have any runtime dependency on gcc* to get in the
way.

[Fink-devel] Moving the gcc6 for fortran

2017-05-05 Thread Remko Scharroo
Dear Fink Developers,

GCC 6 is now quite mature, but we are still using GCC 5 as a source for the
gfortran compiler.

Would you agree it is about time to elevate all Fink's "fortran"-related
packages to rely on gcc6?

Of course, this would best be done for all fortran-related packages at the same
time, e.g.,

 grib-api-fortran 1.18.0-1
ECMWF GRIB API, fortran interface
 grib-api-fortran-shlibs 1.18.0-1
ECMWF GRIB API, fortran shared libraries
 hdf5.10-gfortran 1.8.16-2
HDF5 (v1.8 API)--static FORTRAN libraries
 hdf5.10-oldapi-gfortran 1.8.16-2
HDF5 (v1.6 API)--static FORTRAN libraries
 hdf5.100-gfortran.v1.10 1.10.0-1
HDF5 static FORTRAN library and headers
 hdf5.100-gfortran.v1.8 1.10.0-1
HDF5 static FORTRAN library and headers
 hdf5.9-gfortran 1.8.14-3
HDF5 (v1.8 API)--static FORTRAN libraries
 hdf5.9-oldapi-gfortran 1.8.14-2
HDF5 (v1.6 API)--static FORTRAN libraries
 netcdf-fortran7 4.4.4-1
Array-based data access, Fortran headers/doc
 netcdf-fortran7-shlibs 4.4.4-1
Array-based data access, Fortran library
 patchy4-gfortran 4.15-10
CERNLIB patchy utilities
 patchy5-gfortran 2006b-27
CERNLIB patchy utilities
 xraylib3-gfortran2.16.0-2
X-ray fluorescence library (Fortran build)
 xraylib3-gfortran-shlibs 2.16.0-2
X-ray fluorescence library (Fortran shlib)

I could certainly take charge of netcdf-fortran7* and grib-api-fortran*.

Regards,
Remko

[Fink-devel] Moving the gcc6 for fortran

2017-05-05 Thread Remko Scharroo
Dear Fink Developers,

GCC 6 is now quite mature, but we are still using GCC 5 as a source for the
gfortran compiler.

Would you agree it is about time to elevate all Fink's "fortran"-related
packages to rely on gcc6?

Of course, this would best be done for all fortran-related packages at the same
time, e.g.,

grib-api-fortran 1.18.0-1
ECMWF GRIB API, fortran interface
grib-api-fortran-shlibs 1.18.0-1
ECMWF GRIB API, fortran shared libraries
hdf5.10-gfortran 1.8.16-2
HDF5 (v1.8 API)--static FORTRAN libraries
hdf5.10-oldapi-gfortran 1.8.16-2
HDF5 (v1.6 API)--static FORTRAN libraries
hdf5.100-gfortran.v1.10 1.10.0-1
HDF5 static FORTRAN library and headers
hdf5.100-gfortran.v1.8 1.10.0-1
HDF5 static FORTRAN library and headers
hdf5.9-gfortran 1.8.14-3
HDF5 (v1.8 API)--static FORTRAN libraries
hdf5.9-oldapi-gfortran 1.8.14-2
HDF5 (v1.6 API)--static FORTRAN libraries
netcdf-fortran7 4.4.4-1
Array-based data access, Fortran headers/doc
netcdf-fortran7-shlibs 4.4.4-1
Array-based data access, Fortran library
patchy4-gfortran 4.15-10
CERNLIB patchy utilities
patchy5-gfortran 2006b-27
CERNLIB patchy utilities
xraylib3-gfortran2.16.0-2
X-ray fluorescence library (Fortran build)
xraylib3-gfortran-shlibs 2.16.0-2
X-ray fluorescence library (Fortran shlib)

I could certainly take charge of netcdf-fortran7* and grib-api-fortran*.
