What does this package do exactly ? I understand that the ^M comes from
different carriage return between OSX and Unix, but is there a way to
convert Mac files to Unix automatically when cut and paste ? I mean
without saving the file and convert it with a perl script or other.
On Monday,
I upgraded my G3 iMac and just copied over /sw from my powerbook. I
ran a resinstall of xfree86 and everything seems to work equally well
on both machines. So that at least was simple.
I was unable to figure out a good way to simply capture my install to
CDs. I realized what would be very handy
I'm not 100% sure about the details: I just installed it based on the
description.
What I've found is that the linefeeds don't always show up: I get them
when I paste into evolution, pico supresses them, and emacs (21.1.1 or
21.2.1) either supresses them (when pasting into a normal file) or

I just installed the Open Office Beta for OS X 10.2. I was surprised
to see that the installer specifically mentioned Fink, as though they
expect that most of the people trying the beta will be fink users, or
at least are more likely to have installed Xfree86 using fink, than to
have used other

I can now build a emacs21 deb, and presumably install it (it's
churning away at the latter right now).
The culprit? I did not have Fink's 'xaw3d' package
installed. Once I installed it, emacs21 built correctly.
Presumably this dependency should get added to the emacs21
package...

I am trying to use midi2ly, a python script included with lilypond to

if you put a copy of libdl.dylib in /usr/local/lib and disable the
dlcompat
install button in OO, then the installer finds it and does not install
anything in /usr/lib.

For what it's worth, I get exactly the same output from midi2ly, and I'm
running it on a midi file that lilypond generated itself. I'm also
running it under 10.1.5 with April (?) developer tools, so I think
you're right that it's not your Fink install per se. Maybe the port

Feedback is needed from Fink 10.2 users so the stable tree can be
populated. If you are using 10.2 on fink it would be helpful if you all
could send reports of what packages you are using and whether you have
any problems or not. Please email the maintainer directly (listed in

I think I've figured out where the problem is, anyway. It's in recent
revisions to the lisp packages for xemacs.
On my office system with the current version of xemacs (21.5.9-1) and
(crucially!) the xemacs-sumo package from 20020919, calls to make label

Okay, so maybe this is a dumb question, but can I use the 10.2
tree with 10.1? Are any of the patches/bugfixes/later versions
applicable? Are they forever off limits unless and until I
upgrade to 10.2?
Thanks,
Dan

The reason we separated the two trees is that Apple changed compilers

I have the following related packages installed:
