I removed everything in /Developer and /sw, re-installed the XCode developer tools, ran software update, re-installed fink 0.6.1, and did a source install of emacs21, which finally worked! Now I have emacs, but still no xdvi. Somehow, xdvi-system-tetex is not getting configured correctly. It
