to the 2.4.4 version.
Unfortunately, I didn't keep the old .deb file. So I can't just dpkg -i

Now, it appears to be broken.
I always have only one main window. It looks like the raw messages from
the irc server are displayed in it. If I join a channel, everything gets
into the main windows (instead of opening a new tab).

Yes, GW hates X11 (or did until it was officially recognized by Apple).
That's why his ghostscript is compiled without X11 support. Recompiling
gv won't help. You need a gs with X11 support. Either from Fink or,
maybe, the latest one from GW (?).
