OK, so I'm an idiot who didn't see that it's only availble for 10.2
and not Panther or Tiger. Duh.
You said the pine package comes with uw-imapd? I'll try that.

The next page in the package list indicates that it is only available
in unstable for OS X 10.2. Perhaps newer versions of Apple Mail
already function well enough with imap?
