Been searching around for a fix for this for some time, no one else
seems to be having the same problem.
I have installed Apple's X11, and used it successfully, previously,
with fink. However, after a recent reformat, despite fink showing the
placeholder system-xfree86 etc is installe

didn't want to install on the panther disk.

I found (or better didn't found) that there is no system-xfree86.info
in /sw/fink/10.3/stable/main/finkinfo/x11-system/
In 10.2 there is such a thing. So maybe this is just the missing thing.

shipped with Panther.
Now, if I try to install something (like tetex or ghostscript or gnupg)
fink asks for an xfree package, but the system-xfree86 is not available
in the choice.
