Of course! In no way would this be anything but optional, since it's not a
solution to everybody's IM needs, it's just there for those people for whom
it would work.

Fire doesn't properly display Icelandic characters (well, it doesn't
display them at all actually) while Proteus does. But maybe I'm missing
the Text Encoding
