Here we go again. Are we as a breed going to accept white marks on our
fjords? I was going to buy a red mare that had a small star you could hardly
see
but, I didn't because of it. Everything else was good. I think if we are not
going to accept it

The white footed mouse and deer are hosts to the deer tick around here, and
habitat that supports these two animals will be infected with ticks. For
the deer it is places that are brushy, and for the mouse it is dead brown

suggestions about checking his teeth are excellent and certainly worth
investigating. Melinda, in the old days when my maternal grandparents

If you want nice soft Fjord fur, go for the stuff on the forehead under the
forelock. One of my big spring pleasures is pulling it off. It starts
shedding a bit later than the body. If I were a two year old, I would stuff
it up my nose, hold

We have noticed something interesting about the ticks found on horses
at our farm.
Several years ago we had a Quarter horse boarded here that came in
with tiny ticks on him in the winter - these were mostly the small
deer ricks or moose

Pamela, Thanks for the concern re Gunnar. It could be his teeth and also
the hay has been poor this last year. Altho I fed him three times a day it
may have not been enough. He also has rice grains and low cal grain. Vet

Have any of you tick people ever feed your horses garlic or garlic products.
Was wondering if that would help. Never had any ticks here in western
Washington, just moss and mold:0)

Why is this? That the fish will live in a water trough and not a man made
pond?

Lori GOOD QUESTION!
I would say it works like your septic tank system. If you did nothing to
your stock tank but add water once in

The stock tank is bigger? and gets the water replaced as the horses

I have not heard about using the course of Fenbendazadole to which
you are referring, but what about the Moxidectin based products, such
as in Quest? That dewormer targets encysted cyathostomes, etc. or
the Panacur PowerPac product, or Combo

Ponds are VERY common here, all over Ca. They are all outside. People have
Koi fish in them .Koi fish are somewhat expensive. It's a very prestigious

Janet,
I'm curious about your guard dogs. What sort of breeds make such good guard
dogs? How are they with people or other animals that belong on the
property? Do they react to strange people the same way as deer?
