I guess if you have good insurance, including long-term care insurance then it
is your business whether you wear a helmet or not. Unfortunately most people
who get a serious head injury don't seem to have planned on needing medical
care

If you have good insurance and make a choice that results in your using it
in the way Robin describes, you are driving up the cost of health insurance
for the rest of us too. That also is unfair.
