Hi James,
At this QTH the problem is definitely at the computer output and *not* at
the SDR1K itself.
So, the problem is now narrowed down a bit.
The problem is now computer hardware or software.
So, what spec machine are you using, CPU (hyperthreading, multicore

John,
I'm not entirely sure how you're wanting to hook up the keyer. But if
you're just trying to key the PowerSDR from MixW, you can do this by
selecting CAT for the Secondary Connection in the Setup Form - DSP -
Keyer settings. Configure the PTT and Key lines to match MixW and you

Yes, this is what I have discovered the hard way. I was naively expecting
the new 24-bit device to be 8 bits better than my old 16-bit card, but I
have learnt that it isn't that simple.
But this latest discovery is not just about specmanship. There's something
odd going on

Based on the information we have been presented with, this is definitely
a software issue (because the two reported systems are nothing like each
other). However, the basic start to any troubleshooting is being able
to reproduce the issue. And unfortunately, we have not been able to do
so here.
It is a completely unacceptable problem to any and all of us doing
development. What we need to look for are common factors contributing
to this.

I don't know what the cost is but everyone should be prepared for it to
not be cheap. A TCXO costs a lot of money and this mod will absolutely
invalidate the warranty on the Valpey Fisher oscillator, one of the most
expensive single components in the entire box. Gerald says they are

The cost to install the thermistor is $75 plus return shipping charges. We
received some requests to purchase just the thermistor but decided not to
support this approach for two reasons:
The level of difficulty involved in installing the thermistor and the
invalidating of the Valpey Fisher

Toby,
I've never had any of these problems (it's been about a year of operating
now, 90% CW.)
If you play the percentages, I suspect that you'll find a few fatal flaws in
a small percentage of any rig shipped from any supplier. Machines that do
have problems reported usually get fixed - at
