[Flexradio] panadaptor is worth it's weight in

2008-03-11 Thread FireBrick
Spent 3 hours calling the TX5C on 30 rtty last night Big pileup, calls I've never seen before in any DX pile or contest. This morning they came on again, and I was able to use the panadaptor to spot what I thought was a station he worked. Dragged the blue vfob there and got him.

Good question Scott. I went and got my bathroom scale, and put the monitor with PWSDR on it. funny, but the monitor weighed the same with PWSDR on the screen as it did with PWSDR turned off... maybe there is a different way to determine it? - Original Message - From: Scott

I have a buddy who just bought a second hand 756 PRO II. He is really proud of it. I had to keep my mouth shut. The PRO II spectrum scope is almost useless compared to the PowerSDR panadaptor. I guess for someone who upgraded from the 746, the spectrum scope is heaven. Nuff said! 73, Steve N6VL

Yeah, Yesterday I spent over an hour trying to get TX5C on 40 CW without any luck, bad conditions and lots of QRM/N. This morning I set the panadapter to +4 zoom, dropped my VFO B freq on top of a guy he had just worked, and nailed him on the first call. I really feel for the folks without a

And it just isn't the Panadapter, but the interactive nature of the FlexRadio Panadapter that makes this possible. Seeing is one thing. ClickTuning to a desired frequency and dynamically adjusting the filters for maximum S/N is a WHOLE OTHER BALL GAME -Tim -Original

This is a mixed blessing. If we tout the Flex and it's Panadaptor...then guys will buy more and Flex will prosper. But If we tout the Flex and it's Panadaptor...then guys will buy more and lowly dxers/contestests like me will suffer. Hm, now what would Elliot Pitzer do???/ Talk about

Having both a 756 PRO II and 5000 side by side, I can compare them on a daily basis. The spectrum scope on the PRO series is probably one of the most useful features on a model of this type. However, unlike the 5000, the 756 PRO series spectrum scope is not a point and click scope, so it's

[Flexradio] K6CJA version Power SDR PA calibration

2008-03-11 Thread Bob Lusby
When using the K6CJA version of Power SDR I am unable to keep the PA settings after running the calibration routine with the SDR-1000. Version 1.10.4 and earlier appear to work okay. Am I missing something, or have others had the same experience? Thanks, Bob, k9foh.
