This morning I increased the audio sample rate in powersdr for my flex 5000a
from the default 96000 to 192000. I noticed that the audio quality seemed to
increase a bit and of course the panadapter frequency slice shown was wider.
Are there any adverse affects caused by increasing the audio
Yes, your filter shape factor (may) have changed for the worse depending on the
DSP buffer size you used for 96K as opposed to 192K. The advantage is that you
have reduced the latency by increasing the sampling rate.
See appendix A in the FLEX-5000 Owner's Manual for the technical explanation.
Hi Robert,
The FLEX-3000 will do 100W with a brick on the key so a little fan noise is
in order for a box this size. We pulse width modulate the fan based on the
PA transistor temperature so that it runs low speed in receive and then
modulates up with temperature. There is not much more we

Juan, K4LCd is a very nice retired gentleman in his 70s and a serious buyer. He
is simply on a limited budget. He is simply anxious to find a radio ASAP. I
would NOT consider him SPAM.

Maybe that is Juan's solution too???

If I bought one of the preamps from Pete with 20-21dbg and a NF of .2 would

Depends on what radio hardware you are using. Too much gain is not a good

OK folks, it is time for a list moderator to step in.
First off, based on the Reflector Guidelines, WTB and non-commercial WTS posts

Folks,
This year at Dayton I was lucky enough to win a Flex Radio discount certificate
at the banquet dinner for either $100 off a Flex 5000A or $50 off a Flex 3000.
I have been looking for a serious Flex Radio buyer that could really use this
discount certificate even though others have

Hi all,
The response to receiving the item details for a $450 system that is
lightning fast as well as providing a dedicated IRQ for your firewire

inexpensive a system you can build if you use the right parts. The

Hi folks
For a few weeks time I am enjoying the use of my 3000.
As knowing SDR1000 and Flex5000 very well, I do love the 3000 a lot.
As my main use are all kind of digital modes. I had no problem hooking up
all the programms, via VAC or via the Mike Input with clean no
overdriven signals.

Looks like the philanthropic good nature of the Flexers is going to come
through. I too can't let a good cause pass by and I can think of a
better one to contribute to than helping a fellow Flexer.
So we don't fill up the Reflector with posts, please send a personal

Chris,
Thanks for the update.. The setup for Pactor/Amtor comes up from time
