This morning I increased the audio sample rate in powersdr for my flex 5000a from the default 96000 to 192000. I noticed that the audio quality seemed to increase a bit and of course the panadapter frequency slice shown was wider. Are there any adverse affects caused by increasing the audio

Yes, your filter shape factor (may) have changed for the worse depending on the DSP buffer size you used for 96K as opposed to 192K. The advantage is that you have reduced the latency by increasing the sampling rate. See appendix A in the FLEX-5000 Owner's Manual for the technical explanation.

I would not worry about it.. If you have the Demi preamp, run it.. u don't even need that much gain.. from the sounds of other peoples results, 10-15db is enough to really bring the rx to life... The normal noise floor on 6 meters is high enough that a super low noise preamp is not as
