I had tried a Space Navigator for a few days and just couldn't make peace
with it and so sent it back.

To run CW Skimmer in the I/Q mode on the primary 5000a receiver, you
also need com0com. com0com is a free download.
VAC is not needed, even though VAC connections are referenced below.
Setup:
In PowerSDR Setup, click: AUDIO, VAC, OUTPUT TO VAC, OK
In Skimmer: VIEW, SETTINGS, RADIO, check

So, after a few days of using my 3K on Vista 64 (while here in Chile), I
can't connect to it.
Nothing in my procedure changed. Same firewire ports and I can see it in
the driver.
But, when I try to connect to it with PowerSDR, it doesn't see it. It times
out and says that it can't
Yesterday I tweaked the Services using the list from Neil I found in the
archives. It did not fix the problems.
Today I flashed the Bios (was VER: 0206) to V0601 and just started to
test. The first program I loaded after FLEX hung PSDR. I tried a
second time loading the program and it hung
