I have used several, lately one from Best Buy, under their Dynex store
brand has been working well. It has an Agere chipset. You might stay
away from the NEC chipsets, seem to be have some issues as of late.

Folks,
Jim, AB2CD has jumped in to run the Net this Sunday (Thanks Jim). He
is near Atlanta, so point your antenna at him (for once!) . He does
not CQ100 or Echolink setup ( I am the only one crazy enough to do not
only one, but both) so don't look there, I should be back next
It IS later this year!!! :-)

Sent my SDR-1000 to Flex due to a no transmit / receive condition on 40 meters.
First problem I ever had with it. It was received on 8/28/09. I am curious
if anyone else had any non-warranty repairs performed and how long it took. I
really miss my Flex. Good thing my trusty old Kenwood 870
Jay,
It might take a while. There is a current ECO for the FLEX-3000 that started
Sept 1 that will take precedence since it is an in-production radio. You will
need to contact the Service department directly to find out what the time to
fix will be.

Good day;
What is the expected turn-around time for the preamp modification on
the Flex-3000 radios? (In house time, before it is released to the

Thank you!

I'm told that because resetting the database did not resolve the problem
where the output shows 0 watts, even thought the external watt meter shows
full output, I should send the radio back in for repair.
My question is: will it hurt the radio any if I don't and just rely on the

Jon,
In the future, please post any topics that have to do with experimental
software from the SVN repository to the FlexEdge reflector. Including any
replies to this post.
As for a possible answer, do a hardware reset of the radio. The instructions
for it are in the Knowledge Base.

The reflector is for users of FlexRadios. The Flex Service folks do not
monitor it. You have to ask FlexRadio for a RMA and they will tell you when to
send the radio in and when you should expect it back. The info on how to do
this is in the Knowledge Base under FLEX-3000-ECOs
-Tim
Sounds like the bridge diode has been blown and needs repair. I do not think
you will do any additional harm to the radio using like this, but you should
schedule a repair (get an RMA). Inquire directly with the FlexRadio Service
folks for the exact answer. (serv...@flex-radio.com)

Hi Mike:
Let me do a post here as others may be interested:
The 'plan' with the FLEX-3000 preamplifier upgrade is to schedule radios in
weekly to minimize the Out of the shack time. When you request an RMA
from r...@flex-radio.com , you'll get an email with a RETURN BY date. Right

I understand there are some power management utilities that Asus uses
that can really cause issues with DPCs. Also I heard of a BIOS update
also, you might do a Google search for trouble with Asus motherboards
