Assuming you were using the same Firewire cable that was connected to the
FLEX-5000 when you were doing the test with the FLEX-3000 and you were using
the Firewire control panel to validate connectivity, then it looks like there
may be a problem with the Firewire interface in the FLEX-3000.

I suppose the simplest thing would be to send real QSL cards ... if I had

Clay,
There is one minor indicator to look for, with the radio connected and
powered on and connected to the computer, you should see the reflection
of the a small green light from inside the radio by looking directly at
the FireWire connector on the rear of the radio, kind of like a FW
If you followed FlexRadioSystem on twitter, you could actually see the

Sometimes a real knob makes your UI easier to use.

Hello all,
Had to re-install PSDR 1.18.6 after an unsatisfactory bouts with v2.0
beta. Now I can't get the firmware 1.2.5.6 to flash the eeprom
I get the following message:
Firmware Update Status:

The Flex-3000 operated flawlessly at the FD at K5BAY. www.K5BAY.org
We started the event with a Kenwood TS-2000 and it just was not cutting it.
Two of us are seasoned flexers and it just was not fun
to operate - we missed the Panadapter.

Lou,
I don't think that you have your FireWire working correctly. Be sure
that the FW driver is communicating with the radio through the FW HW.
If you are running XP, make sure that you have HotFix 955408 installed
and working..Power Down the radio before and after trying to flash
Mark,
To make a post-processed recording (just the recorded Audio) endlessly
play, just open the Wave menu, click Loop after selecting the file to
play and before you hit the PTT or MOX = Play. It will play until you
either hit the play again or stop PSDR

It was the same Firewire cable that I plugged into both rigs. I've advised
the owner to return the radio for repair. Thanks for the info.
