In follow-up to my lamentations about the CW semi-break in locking up, one
additional funny thing: CW via CWX works perfectly fine. It's just the rx/tx
switchover with the paddle that causes the problem.
Funny, isn'it?

75 meter ragchew and lots of doubling!! A roger beep or some type of indicator
transmitted after you unkey would be nice. Over!

It isn't funny because the nature of how the CW signal is generated is
different between the CWX and a physical switch (key/paddles). One is purely
software derived and the other is interrupt driven from a hardware event.
Try this. If you are not using the Win7 1394 Legacy Firewire driver, I
Seriously though.. If done subtle way. A courtesy tone can be helpful.
Especially on SSB where the RF stops when you pause in speech, but don't
un-key.
We already have them coming off repeaters. It actually seems weird when
someone shuts off the repeaters beep.

That's a sound idea. Let us hope that the team will consider it as an
option.

Has anyone tried the Kensington Orbit trackball on your Flex? It has a
free turning scrolling wheel around the ball. The model number is
K72337US. If this works properly, it would be great for frequency
tuning.

They also assist in pileup's, a pal of mine uses one, and reports that

Thank you very much, Tim. I have followed the procedure, unfortunately
without results.
Don't you think the rx/tx IC could be damaged? I stupidly toasted all the
three PA control outputs (before I read the manual, obviously) by connecting
directly to a TL-922. Is the break-in part of the same
That's a nice little gadget.
Eventually the Flex engineers will have developed PowerSDR so perfectly that
they will be sitting around with nothing to do. I'm telling you, that day is
coming!! My SDR-1000 is working fine right now using 1.18.3 so that day
shouldn't be far away.
Then we'll
Has there been an update I missed? I understood at last a sample radio had been
received by the toolkit vendor but missed any subsequent updates.
Thanks,

It is a compound driver; there is a low-level streaming part (the one that
had the bug) and an high-level driver that communicates with the hardware.
Both are still be worked on and integrated together. Hopefully some of the
internal alpha testers will get a crack at it in a week or so.
David,
The custom USB driver is fully functional in our lab in 64-bit mode. The
DDK vendor promised to send us the 32-bit version next week. We then have
to do the full integration into PowerSDR and the installer. Once that has
been completed it will go to our alpha testers. If they find no
I have run flex radios for the last five years. Never a problem with
computers or the power supply. Just built a new computer up but it had
cheap power supply. Lots of noise. What power supply should I look for and
what rating should I look for. Mid tower case with sata drives.

I only use Antec power supplies (ATX12V). There are others which are very good
(Corsair, PC Power Cooling, OCZ) , but I have had great luck with Antec.
I usually get ones that have a bit more wattage than I usually require so that
they run cooler and that extends their life so in the long run
There are a lot of good ones (Antex, OCZ, etc.) and with PSU's you
definitely get what you pay for. If a power supply is cheap, beware period.
Especially stuff like the Ultra's that TigerDirect sell. Also avoid
