There are seven open collector control pins that can be configured with the
External Control Tab to go logic high on either transmit or receive
depending onhow youm configure them. I am seeing + 0.6V whenhigh. Is
that correct?

I think they are talking about TTL logic levels - read up on TTL
transition levels on google. IIRC, HIGH is maybe 3-4V.

Doug,
As you noted, the X2 outputs are open-collector. Logic High turns the
transistor on, which will result in a collector-to-ground voltage of a few
tenths of a volt. Logic Low turns the transistor off, resulting in the
collector voltage rising to whatever the pull-up voltage is in the device
I am suddenly getting an error when I start fldigi, although fldigi
seems to still work after the message noted below (although I could only
find CW this morning).

What software and version are you using for the virtual com port pairs.

Tim,
I am not home with that computer, but it is the version that Steve Nance
sent me on 1/2/2011-the file properties of the setup file say that it
was modified in 10/30/2009 . The pdf file that is included in the zip
file says VSP Manager by K5FR- Version 1.0.1.006.

Hi Gary
fldigi did not find the cat comm pair you are using. Double-check that it is
indeed defined as well as being used by PSDR. Could there be another program
running that owns Com6-16?

Neal,
I am going to double check tonight by re-booting the computer and then
just starting SDR and fldigi to see if the error goes away. If it
does, then there is some residual service left running when HRD is
closed. HRD does in fact use that port when it is running, but it is
not on at
You may just want to use a unique port pair for Fldigi

Hi all,
I know Neal uses NOD32 as a product on his website for the Flex Optimized
computers he sells, so I was thinking of putting that on a new laptop I

Hi folks,
Here is a cut n paste from the System Scan from the Flexradio Driver.
The lucent FW card has been removed but still shows up. My question is
which would be the better FW card to use? Or would it make no difference.
Cheers,
Dave.

Try the Lucent card first. It has a greater number of max isochronous RX
contexts. If it doesn't perform well, use the VIA

Oh yeah. One other thing. Make sure you checked all three boxes when you did
the scan to ensure to get the latest compatibility list downloaded from the
Internet.

Thanks Tim,
Yes I saw the isoch 8 versus isoch 4 but didn't know what it meant so
that's why the post for advice.
All boxes were ticked when i performed the scan.
I notice with the VIA onboard FW card I do not notice any latency on CW
transmit. The latency checker maxes out at 22u sec and
I went home and rebooted my computer. Then I tried to open SDR, and it
would not open. I tried and tried to open it, and it simply would not
do so. I then ran the SDR setup again and did a repair of the SDR
installation. Once that was done, everything worked fine- both SDR and
fldigi.
